Card Captor Sakura: Keroberos

Keroberos from Card Captor Sakura!

I've never made plushies before (at least not in remotely recent years) so this little project proved to be quite a challenge to me. His pattern is unique, developed between three separate commercial patterns. I made seven different mockups before I reached the point where I could make the real thing.

Kero-chan is made of soft yellow suede fabric, and his ears are lined with an applique of yellow crepe-back satin. His eyes are small black socketed doll eyes, and his nose and mouth are hand-stitched. The base of his wings is white velvet, embellished with glittery silver puff-paint, and extended with white feathers. His tail is stiffened with a piece of rubber tubing, and ends in a tuft of white fur.

My little Kero-chan can stand by himself at precisely 9" tall. He will join us at Anime Expo 2010 to complete our Card Captor Sakura cosplay group!
